The Great Commission is not a calling for a few. It is the assignment of the Church.

The Gatherers

Mobilizing the Church for the Mission of God

Every great movement begins when someone casts a vision that others are inspired to follow.

Gatherers are the mobilizers of the Great Commission. They see the potential within people and churches and help connect that potential to God’s global mission. Their passion isn’t simply to do ministry—it’s to equip others to discover their place in it.

They inspire. They organize. They train. They connect.

Because when the Church is mobilized, the mission moves forward.

Who Are the Gatherers?

Gatherers are leaders, communicators, pastors, teachers, organizers, connectors, and visionaries who help others embrace God’s heart for the nations. They recognize that many believers want to make a difference—they simply need someone to show them how.

Rather than asking, “What can I accomplish?” Gatherers ask, “How many people can I equip to accomplish God’s mission together?”

Their influence multiplies because they invest in others.

Why Gatherers Matter

Jesus spent much of His earthly ministry gathering people around a vision of God’s Kingdom. He called disciples, taught crowds, equipped leaders, and ultimately commissioned His followers to continue His work.

The Apostle Paul did the same, strengthening churches, mentoring leaders, and encouraging believers to remain faithful to their calling.

Throughout history, every significant missions movement has been fueled by men and women who gathered believers around a common purpose and inspired them to take action. Missions mobilization awakens churches to their biblical mandate, increases awareness of the unreached, identifies meaningful roles for believers, and equips the Body of Christ to participate in the Great Commission.

Gatherers continue that work today.

What Do Gatherers Do?

Gatherers help transform vision into action by creating opportunities for people to engage in God’s mission.

They may:

  • Cast vision for the Great Commission
  • Mobilize churches around missions
  • Teach the Mission Mindset
  • Lead missions conferences and events
  • Equip pastors and ministry leaders
  • Connect churches with mission opportunities
  • Develop partnerships between ministries
  • Mentor future leaders
  • Organize prayer initiatives
  • Encourage believers to discover their G

Their goal isn’t to build followers.

It’s to build Kingdom participation.

The Heart of a Gatherer

Gatherers believe the Church is at its best when everyone is involved.

They become excited when someone discovers their calling.

They celebrate collaboration over competition.

They understand that one inspired church can impact an entire community, and one mobilized generation can change the world.

Gatherers aren’t driven by recognition.

They’re driven by multiplication.

How Gatherers Strengthen the Ecosystem

The Gatherer serves as a bridge within the 5G Ecosystem.

They encourage the Groaners to pray with purpose.

They help identify and send the Goers.

They connect Givers with meaningful Kingdom opportunities.

They create environments where Greeters can build authentic community.

They don’t replace the other Gs.

They help every G flourish.

When Gatherers faithfully serve, the entire ecosystem becomes healthier, more connected, and more effective.

Could You Be a Gatherer?

You may be a Gatherer if you naturally enjoy:

  • Inspiring others toward a shared vision
  • Teaching and encouraging people
  • Organizing events or ministries
  • Building relationships between churches
  • Developing leaders
  • Creating opportunities for others to serve
  • Connecting people with purpose
  • Seeing the “big picture”

If people often leave conversations with you feeling encouraged, challenged, and ready to take action, God may have uniquely gifted you as a Gatherer.

Your Next Step

The Great Commission doesn’t advance because a few people do everything.

It advances because someone inspires everyone to do something.

If God has given you a passion for encouraging, equipping, connecting, and mobilizing others, your influence could help awaken an entire church to God’s mission.

The Church doesn’t simply need more workers.

It needs more people who help workers discover their calling.

Perhaps that’s your G.
